They met at an airport piano. Now they’re working in studio
mainValérie Marie was footling around on the piano at Toulouse-Blagnac airport when a guy came over and asked if she knew Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.
He said his name was Grégory Benchenafi and someone recorded their performance.
It went viral on Valérie’s Facebook page with 2.5 million hits in six days.
Now the pair are releasing their first professional tracks on iTunes.
Leonard Cohen had the gift that keeps on giving.
*footling?
Or is it Tootling?
If every airport had pianos in all boarding areas, airports would be better places. Maybe the world too.
Many airports and railway stations do.
The the central train station of Venice is resplendent with a piano
Indeed. That’s why I wrote all.
Recently at Charles de Gaulle I was tempted but didn’t want to end up as a story somewhere.
Ridiculous glorification of musical banality…
Isn’t Leonard Cohen still alive?
More natural and authentic than that fake crap played in Vienna at Musikverein by a group of singers conductor and orchestra that should have known better.
FYI. Leonard Cohen is still dead.
