I knew a neuro-surgeon who was fond of saying: “I’m an amateur violinist and a professional neuro-surgeon and it’s just as well it’s not the other way around.”
Alan Greenspan studied for a year the clarinet at (the reguarly bashed here) Julliard.
We’d all be better off if he’d stuck with the clarinet.
My brain surgeon plays the violin. I thought of that as a bonus.
Neurosurgery requires extremely delicate and precise fingerwork. Violin and/or piano training might be the perfect prerequisite!
