Spanish research: A foetus responds to music in the womb
mainResearch at the Institut Marquès in Spain appears to show that an unborn child responds when music is played into the mother’s body.
Here’s a remarkable video titled ‘Response of the foetus to intravaginal music’ in which the baby appears to sing along with Mozart.
It’s a fascinating topic, but to avoid misunderstandings it should be pointed out, that the video is obviously only a very crude illustration, since the music and the video are aligned afterwards and are not correlated.
That the foetus responds to auditory cues in the womb is known for many decades. Now please let us know, what specifically has been found out about the reaction.
