He is presently first Kapellmeister at Meiningen and assistant conductor at the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra.
Go, Leo!
Bravo, Leo!!! Very well deserved, so proud of you!!!! This is just the beginning!
Concert promoters & orchestra chairmen: HIRE Leo ASAP!!!
Not only he is excellent. Leo McFall is a truly wonderful musician, he’s got so much from his mentor Bernard HAITINK.
Leo’s Rusalka and Turn of the Screw at Glyndebourne were mesmerizing!
I studied with Leo at the Sibelius Academy and he was a supremely gifted conductor then. That was ten years ago and I can only imagine how far he has come in that time. Big things ahead for this young man!
Congrats to Leo on winning the Price! Couldn’t have happened to a nicer talented guy with such deep and thoughtful musicality. Still remember the first time we met in Berlin when the late Günter Wand was conducting the Berlin Phil in Bruckner 8th. Haitink, who is guest conducting in Boston right now, must be very happy for Leo too!
