Be afraid: Roger is on the Lewis again
mainIn rugby news….. the chief executive of Welsh Rugby Union will step down after the World Cup this autumn.
Roger Lewis, who will be 61, is a former head of BBC Radio 1, Decca Records, EMI Classics and Classic FM.
He has one more job left in him.
Obvious vacancies: BBC Proms controller, Classic FM, English National Opera… IMG Artists…
My understanding is that there is no vacancy at Classic FM. I believe Darren Henley is not being replaced.
Roger Lewis would be wise to stay away from the music business. His past contributions are dubious at best and outright destructive at worst. Please, the classical music business is far more fragile nowadays and probably could not withstand this man’s onslaught and he may just be the final nail in the coffin, should he come back.
I can only endorse this in the strongest terms.
