Dear Mr. Lebrecht: There are hundreds of available photos of Kissin (who is now 43 years old), so why do you publish a photo of the 19 year old Kissin with his mother? Surely a more recent, mature photo would be appropriate here. Thank you.

  • Hilary says:

It will be intriguing if Kissin plays one of the 125 newly commissioned pieces as up til now Prokofiev has been the farthest he has stepped into the 20th century, yet alone 21st. Formidable pianist though….I’ve always been impressed by his appearences in London.

    • Tutti Musica says:

Kissin’s Yiddish music & poetry program will certainly consist of Carnegie Hall premieres, with works by Moyshe Milner, Alexander Veprik, Alexander Krein, and Ernest Bloch.

Seems like you eliminated Petros Linardos´ really harmless comment from yesterday evening, but forgot to delete your own reaction from 6.14 pm: “If you don’t like this site, please leave.” This post looks quite lonesome now…;-)
