      A decent orchestra will ignore the conductor as a matter of honour, if nothing else. Look at recent experience of John Eliot Gardiner with the Leipzig Gewandhaus…. at least according to the account in Private Eye…

    The inside cover two-page spread is even more fanciful, ostensibly part of a marketing strategy. The musicians are actual Phil members.
