Haven’t laughed that much since Granny got her tits caught in the wringer! Hilarious, especially stand-up comedian Barbara Hannigan.
Correction: according to the website, livestreaming is from 7th to 27th of Jan.
When I read “very young girls” I thought you meant pre-pubescent children, because I’m pretty sure that young teen is already implied in the libretto (“Sua passion predominante è la giovin principiante.”) – How old do people think the young beginner was in the 18th century? Anyway, I’m glad this production is taking a more conservative route after all, while at the same time offering the director a chance to call the Americans prudes. It’s not as if Americans don’t sexualize very young children at those beauty pageants all the time anyway! (But let’s not give this director any ideas.)
Are there any X-rated things that are not banned for kids? SCNR
BTW: Couldn’t see any explicit content in this vid.
1. I’m still trying to figure out the still photograph — is he trying to perform auto-fellacio standing up?
2. The poor soprano in the video, singing in a see-through bra, on a cold stage floor, with a man’s head stuck up between her legs under her skirt.
3. Can’t opera singers say no?
Just looked at the photo again and still can’t stop laughing at the first part of your comment. Herrera, you made my day!
Do singers complain about directors not understanding the music or about being asked to sing in uncomfortable positions?
my, my, to this we have come indeed. Moreover the mozart singing was lousy with the ‘finestra’ ballad a case in point. And that that director, holy my…”it’s not about stress” but he HIMSELF was THe epitome of stress : hyperkinetic, speaking as if on speed, waving arms and an ugly anti-american remark which belongs to some of the politically correct leftist european gangs. I’m not going to spend a penny on it though i live not far from the house, a house i used to frequent a lot in the past as did my ancestors, but that world has gone, sad but true.
euh, I meant of course the duet, a typo due to STRESS, STRESS , STRESS
