It’s all changing. The money’s not in records any more. It’s in music.

What is making money is the Act. The Shtick. The cult of the personality. And then you can go buy the CD or download, and be one of the cool kids.
It hasn’t been about the music in a long time.
It also seems Ms. Netrebko, Ms. Fleming, Ms. Gheorghiu et al are not poor so some part of music is paying.
