What a stunning way to lift one’s spirits after watching “Send in the Clowns” from Washington today.
Thomas Hampson once again stuns and amazes with the sheer beauty and simplicity of his technique; thank you so much!
The Ständchen is NOT by David Matthews although other arrangements on the disc are; it’s by Bob Zimmerman. I don’t actually have the disc, so I only knew this because I have it on the authority of David Matthews, who presumably knows…
There is an orchestration by David Matthews but it is for full orchestra, this one is for strings.
