As well as seeing concerts for free, owners of seats at the Albert Hall can also profit from selling them on at inflated prices for concerts they don’t want to see. Some of the owners make more than £100K a year from reselling their seats. The Charity Commission has been trying to get the Hall to deal with this for several years, so far without much success
If the box costs 2.5m and they generate 100k a year, it would take 25 years to break even (ignoring advertisement costs for those tickets, maintenance fees etc). Hardly what one would call an investment.
But you can also rent it out as an Airbnb on nights when the hall is dark.
Owner of 12-seat box will have right to attend two-thirds of events at concert hall.
