That’s odd – I’ve never seen anything but pop music programmes on that channel. Even Alagna hasn’t been along to croon a few ditties.
The French are surely watching her, but do they listen to her?
Appropriately, the award looks like some broken-off piano keys stuck together and painted silver. Or is it mounted on her dress?
This pianist is so in love with herself that it is hard to stomach. I refuse to buy into her scheme. Her music making? Blech!
I agree that her music making is ungeheuerlich. Also, she has all the charisma of a dead kipper.

It makes sense that a pop station would accord her such a distinction- which she will never receive from a reputable classical station. She’s a dreadful musician and a disgrace.
I find her debut Liszt CD extremely impressive (and so did a number of critics) so I don’t think she should be dismissed for showing off her other advantages.
This is not a “real” award, and there was no vote.
The selection of “winners” was curated by the shows producers, certainly among artists, individual and groups they want to reward but also, and mainly, among guests they had on their daily show throughout the past year (interestingly enough, the previous version of the show was not on the same network).
The show was intended to be a look back at 2016 (through the eyes of past guests), rather than a proper award ceremony with nominees and such.

It is certainly great that classical artists get visibility on major networks and in popular shows.
And this says nothing good or bad about the artist herself.
But please, not an award, no vote, no ceremony: just a talk show special.
The name of the award being “Q d’or” would also be a sure indicator for anyone with minimum knowledge of the French language…
