It’s not in via Salomone. Now It’s in piazza alla Scala, at the side of the theatre. I saw it yesterday.
Really delightful to see this. A worthy first for Ricordi. It’s a splendidly apt location – not only did Ricordi have extremely close relations with the Scala, but his premises were in the part of the building where the entrance to the museum now is.
The only other publisher I’ve come across commemorated on any monument is Bernhard Christoph Breitkopf, who is one of the 14 famous printers and publishers depicted on the frieze of the Gutenberg monument in Frankfurt.
