Breaking: New York Philharmonic gives new prize to Brit pianist, 24
mainThe orchestra has announced the creation of a Ronnie and Lawrence Ackman Classical Piano Prize.
The first winner is Benjamin Grosvenor.
The prize amounts to $30,000 and some dates with the Philharmonic.
The next award is in 2019.
Well deserved… Grosvenor is a fantastic musician – giving music priority over mere dexterity. It is heartwarming to know that such people are existing and born in even our times.
