Wigmore Hall has sacked the Arts Council. You can, too

There has been a hugely positive response to the Wigmore Hall’s decision to sack the interfering body that dispenses funds to the arts. Just search the slippedisc.com site for the sheer variety of opposition.

But there’s something you can still do to influence the ACE’s future, if any.

Sample questions:

What changes, if any, would you like to see in ACE’s mandate?
In what way(s) could ACE deliver more effectively?
On a scale of 1 – 5 how strongly do you support ACE’s current 10 year strategy Let’s Create?

You can respond as a private individual and responses are anonymous, so it is an opportunity for the industry to respond honestly, without fear.

The survey can be completed by anyone – you do not need to work for an ACE-funded organisation or have ever applied for funding. The introduction says, “We want to hear from anyone who has an interest in or a view about the operation of the Arts Council England and what it delivers. From the users of the art forms ACE funds, through creative practitioners, freelancers, national, local or community based organisations and institutions, all views will be welcomed and taken into consideration.”

The survey closes at midday on 24 April.
