OrchestrasRiccardo Chailly, unwell, has pulled out of a European tour with the orchestra of La Scala, Milan. His replacement is Lorenzoi Viotti. We send speedy recovery wishes to Riccardo.
press release:
There has been a change of conductor for the Filarmonica della Scala’s upcoming concerts at La Scala and on tour. Music Director Riccardo Chailly has been forced to withdraw due to a sudden illness and will therefore be unable to conduct the concert at La Scala on 24 February and the European tour from 25 February to 4 March. We are pleased to announce that Lorenzo Viotti has agreed to lead these concerts. Filarmonica della Scala’s first tour of 2025 includes concerts at the Konzerthaus in Vienna (Feb. 25), the Béla Bártok National Concert Hall in Budapest (Feb. 26), the Philharmonie in Luxembourg (Feb. 28) and the Philharmonie de Paris (March 1), the Auditorio de Zaragoza (March 3) and the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid (March 4).
Tough I have a ticket. For me It was supposed maybe to be the last time for seeing him with La Scala and it was maybe the last European tour….
Get well soon Ricardo
I hope he keeps his clothes on.
You’re in the minority then.
We all love Lorenzo Viotti
No, we all love Christian Thielemann, but close, Jerry.
And he keeps his clothes on, the dreamboat.
Lorenzo Viotti?
Why?
Again bad news from Milan: Chailly cancels three concerts (march 17, 19 & 21) with Filarmonica della Scala at Teatro alla Scala. Chung is jumping in. No more Bruckner #9 (completed version), it’s time for Schubert Unfinished and Beethoven #7.
