The town of Tauberbischofsheim in Baden-Württemberg (pop. 13,000) has a music school named after a composer called Richard Trunk.

Trunk (1879-1968) was an earrly member of the Nazi party who met Hitler on several occasions. His music was pre-modern in character. He composed a set of songs to poems by Baldur von schirach, the Hitler Youth Leder. He also composed a set of American songs.

During the Third Reich he headed the music academy in Munich. In 1945, reaching retirement age, he returned to his home town, Tauberbischofsheim, leaving all his works in its care. Now the town has begun agonising what to do about its unopened Trunk.
