The London Symphony Orchestra has made it known that its veteran co-leader Carmine Lauri has played his last concert and is returning to his native Malta after nearly three decades.

Lauri first played in the LSO on graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 1993. He joined the orchestra four years later and was appointed joint leader (concertmaster) in 2001.
