Embattled concertmaster steps down after 25 years
OrchestrasIn the orchestra’s hot seat since 2001, the violinist Jonathan Carney will retire as concertmaster of the Baltimore Symphony in 2027, it was announced today.
Carney, 62, had been suspended in the past over claims of sexual harrassment by the principal oboe and other allegations of misconduct. After a brief rest on full pay, he was quietly reinstated.
