NY Local 802 has new boss
NewsMusicians union Local 802 has chosen Broadway trombonist Robert Suttmann as its unopposed new president.
He succeeds harpist Sara Cutler who, in 18 months, nailed major news deals at the New York Philharmonic and New York City Ballet and cleared the Philharmonic to fire two musicians over alleged sexual coercion.
Suttmann will soon face tough talks at the Metropolitan Opera.
