    Another day in the MAGAGOPNRAUSA…

(It’s the guns. The only mental health problem are the GOP gun nuts)

    • Greg Hlatky says:

Gun violence in the US is largely Democrats shooting Democrats.

Does this level of dtupidity actually exist ?

        • Greg Hlatky says:

You mean, seeing a sad story where both the perpetrator and victim are black and shrieking, “Florida Trump GOP MAGAt, NRA!!!” like it was Two-Minutes Hate? Yes, absolutely.

      • David says:

I love that you cite a source without even looking at it. That says NOTHING about democrats vs republicans.

What CDC data shows is that in 2021, the highest firearm mortality rates were seen in 1. Mississippi (red), 2. Louisiana (red) 3. New Mexico (blue), 4. Alabama (red) 5. Wyoming (red) 6. Alaska (red) 7. Montana (red) 8. Arkansas (red) 9. Missouri (red) 10. Tennessee (red). Other than New Mexico, all other states voted for Trump. A Third Way report also found that between 2000 and 2020, Trump voting states had 12% higher murder rates than did Biden-voting states.

Now here are the actual studies you can refer to so you can educate yourself. And to those of you who plan on downvoting this, I encourage you not to throw an irrational tantrum in face of facts. If you want to contest these facts, you may do so with proper data. Then we can constructively discuss.

        • HReardon says:

Now that you have inferred all Trump supporters are in addition to being racist, mysoginistic, felon loving far-right conservatives, you choose to label them as murderous. I suppose there is another questionable government study that links people that play music loudly enough to disturb their neighbors as being Trump Supporting Republicans. Very well done divisive statement on your part that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

        • Greg Hlatky says:

Which erroneously assumes that homicide rates are uniform across a state, which of course they are not.

Tell you what. Compare the homicide rate for Memphis vs. Tennessee. Or Baton Rouge and New Orleans vs. Louisiana. Or St. Louis vs. Missouri. Or Jackson vs. Mississippi. Then look at the electoral results for those places.

The original comment suggested that this sad incident was the result of Trump-MAGA “gun nuts”, not helped by the picture for this post. Whereas it’s a tragedy that blacks – who overwhelmingly vote Democratic – kill each other at an astonishingly higher rate than any other demographic.

          • David says:

No, they do not kill each other at an “astonishingly higher rate”. The rate of “white on white” gun violence is pretty much the same as black on black. It’s just that gun violence is linked to poverty, and that there is a disproportionate amount of black people in poverty, hence higher “number” of deaths. You seem to not have grasped the basic idea of proportion vs total number. You also do not understand the difference between causation and correlation.

Let me give you a hypothetical example. If it happens to be statistically true that all criminals abuse drugs, you’re the type that would jump to the conclusion that drugs cause crimes. However, what you SHOULD do is also consider that:

            1) it’s the opposite: criminality may promote drug abuse
            2) Drug use and criminality are unrelated causally but rather caused by a third independent variable, such as psychology, past history, socioeconomic background, and so forth
            3) The policing of drugs or the laws themselves heighten criminality associated with drugs

They are all equally possible, and you cannot conclude hastily before conducting this research. I hope you take your time to educate yourself before forming wrong opinions about the world. Living according to facts will ALWAYS be better than living in your delusions.

        • Yuri K says:

He meant most gun violence in the US is blacks shooting blacks (80% according to some reports), and blacks mostly vote for dems.

    It was probably Mahler

It’s those dang Webern Op. 18 songs. I’ve personally had several close calls while practicing in Florida….

  • J Barcelo says:

Apartment living and loud music are a volatile mix. Noise pollution is a very serious problem that is too often brushed aside. Issues like this are not uncommon; as the local police. Disturbing the peace calls happen daily.
