Classical stars join Camden’s club life
NewsA friend came back fro KOKO last night, enthusing about a gig by cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason and his pianist sister, Isata. There were 800 young people crowding out the venue, having a really good time.
Two weeks ago, Koko put on the supercool pianist Pavel Kolesnikov in the Goldberg Variations.
Last week it was classical guitarist Rosie Bennet.
There is so much more classical music in London than the somnolent South Bank and Barbican would have us believe.
Thank you for writing this, Norman. Just to note that the events were hosted by Through The Noise, not KOKO. The previous concerts with Rosie and Pavel were elsewhere. Thanks!
That’s a shame for me, I would have gone to this concert but am not “young” and didn’t have a clue it was on – presumably it was promoted on social media which I avoid.
