What a load of ykw!
I wanted to hear this ballyhooed woman a few months ago in Karlsruhe but her program was such a (hybrid crossover arranged) mess that it would have been a waste of time.
There are DOZENS of organists.
Ms Lapwood’s personal life is a matter of indifference to me but it is hard to think of any other organist who does so much to raise the profile of the instrument among younger people, particularly young women. I’m not always keen on what she plays (the same goes for Jonathan Scott) but if it encourages young folk to discover the organ and understand that organs do not need to be associated with churches and religious music I say good for her.
Root position arrangements of Hans Zimmer, a big fat phony look-at-me grin and teenage girlish antics on stage would drive any sensible man away.
