Singers mourn Bergonzi’s son, 67
RIPThe funeral will take place tomorrow of Marco Bergonzi, son of the great tenor Carlo, who spent his later years at Marco’s hostelry in Bussetto, Verdi’s birthplace. Marco’s hotel is named I due foscari.
Marco conserved Carlo’s memory and celebrated his centenary in July this year.
May he rest in peace.
Marco was Bergonzi’s second son. The oldest is Maurizio, born when the singer made his tenor debut as Chénier in Bari. Ah, those days in Verona each year between 1968 and 1976.
