The special award of Bavaria’s culture prizes for 2024 was bestowed today on the Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv, the first woman to conduct an opera at the Bayreuth Festival.

‘Oksana Lyniv is a top-class conductor, a musical pioneer and an inspiring bridge-builder,’ said Bavaria’s Arts Minister Markus Blume.
