Shock death of young Vienna tenor
RIPFriends have reported the death of Leonardo Navarro, a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble since 2017.
Leo was 38. Friends believe he died of cancer.
A Chilean who sang his first roles in at the Teatro Regional del Maule, he sang two engagements in Washington before moving to Vienna. Of his life there he said: ‘As a musician, it’s fantastic. One feels that here one absorbs all the wisdom and all the possible culture related to music , singing and art. From that point of view, it’s super nourishing and super good to live here.’
His colleague Jongmin Park writes: ‘Dear my friend Leonardo. I’m so sad to hear this sad news. How many years we worked together, sang together, laughed together, and talked together….. You are leaving us such a young age. It was a great pleasure to sing with you. We will always remember you in our heart.’
Terrible. He had a daughter too.
Why are all these people dying, suddenly?
Death has always been sudden
The feigned sympathy was almost convincing, but the dog whistle needs to be a bit more subtle.
It’s been years now, get over it.
Death is part of the circle of life. And if Mr. Navarro had cancer, his death was not sudden. We can’t stop death from happening. What we CAN do is to live our best lives and make our part of the world a better place. That is the best way to honor the memory of someone you admire.
It’s utterly dreadful to die that young, from any cause. And to endure the suffering from cancer beforehand is what makes it so much worse.
