Conductor Jay Fishman will give his last concerts with the Minnesota Sinfonia this weekend. After that, the orchestra will cease to exist.

Fishman, 77, founded it in 1989 to play concerts in schools and for low-income adult audiences who could not afford to pay for a ticket. He employed 26 musicians and gave 60-70 concerts a year.
