The composer Laurence Traiger died suddenly on October 18. He was 68. Originally from Bellmore, Long Island, he had lived in Europe since 1976.

Traiger taught at the Munich Academy and the Innsbruck branch of the Salzburg Mozarteum. He worked closely with the Munich radio chorus and specialised unusually in writing for baroque instruments.

  • John Borstlap says:

Traiger wrote really good music. Why would any self-appointed music lover who is (supposedly) right in his mind, deem it necessary to place a thumb-down? maybe the only ‘professional musician’ who should not be on this site? In any case someone who has no ears.
