NY violinist with two broken wrists needs your help
OrchestrasAn appeal has been launched to help Denise Stillwell, a busy violinist and violist on and off Broadway.
Denise had both wrists smashed in a motor accident three weeks ago while visiting her mother in Florida.
She’s having surgery, but it will be quite a while before she works again.
She needs our help.
Here‘s the fundraiser.
Due to her medical needs, Denise will be out of work for several months. No income during what we all know are challenging times to begin with will be tough. Any assistance until she has her instrument(s) in her hands and under her chin again would help her immensely. Also, please feel free to reach out to Denise herself to see how things are going, as keeping in good spirits is a vital part of the recovery process.
How tragic! I feel so badly for her. Yet surely it will take longer than several months to get her technique back. Let’s hope many contribute.
zomg I played in New Jersey Youth Symphony with Denise back umm a while ago. I’ll only add my voice to the chorus to please help as you are able.
I suppose many elderly users on Slipped Disc have not seen the word “zomg”
Yet another tiresome term to learn … Idhttwlai [I don’t have time to waste learning about it]. LOL OMG LGBTQWERTY.
Zomg! I’m officially elderly I guess.
Let’s hope Denise can find some p/t work in the mean time. Maybe even coaching young students.
right next to an article about “the richest donors ” …….
This isn’t about hate or envy, it’s about helping. Maybe one of the donors will read this article and contribute.
I DO feel sorry for her, but really? With countless numbers of people balancing precariously between life and death all over the world?
Sorry, my money is going to those who need it mostly due to a hurricane.
I agree, Chris. I got more downvotes than you, though. Reflects more on the downvoters than on us.
Hold on en be strong and resilient
