He was special..
So what? We again have to hear about this whining, mumbling druggie with no talent?
No talent? Why are you posting in a music blog when you don’t know about music at all?
Please. It’s a big fat nothing. His books are empty pseudointellectual nonsense for the easily impressed, too.
You’d love them.
Now then, who’s whining here? Just go and have a nice lie down. You’ll feel better and maybe won’t feel the need to make ignorant bitter comments.
I was just in Montreal-heard Gurrelieder and visited some Cohen sites-I learned that he and Kamala went to the same High School.
Cohen grew up literally a few houses away from my ex-wife when she grew up in Westmount, but not at the same time. Still, it is a small world.
I was also in Montreal and heard Gurrelieder. Also saw Cohen’s image on the side of building in downtown (Rue Crescent, I think, but someone will probably correct).
Well, to be published as a respected poet before realizing he could also write memorable tunes seems to me to be talent, but what do I know?
Precious little, I suspect.
