There must be something in common between tennis and the violin. Apparently, Djokovic’s daughter has started taking violin lessons. Who knows if one day she will reach the level of the fantastic violinist Geneva Lewis? A couple of years ago, she performed an amazing recital in our concert series in Naples, Florida, and she is having an important career as a soloist. It’s interesting to note, for tennis lovers, that she is the daughter of the 1983 Wimbledon finalist Chris Lewis.
Lovely family moment.
They don’t call Novak “the joker” for nothing.
Or “Jerkovic” as some prefer. When Djokovic used his tennis racket to mimic a violinist last month at Wimbledon, I think it was partly to mess with the spectators. He’s never happy unless he’s stirring the pot.
Yeah I’d like ND except he behaves like a whiny toddler.
This comes off more like a stunt to make him look more likeable. Except it doesn’t.
…not really smashing…
Has onyone seen the video of Dutch triple worldchampion Formula I, playing the violin at a concert of Strauss Waltzking André Rieu, august 2023…?
I thought it was about having fun.
Sarah McElravy, the pride of Lindsay, Ontario,!
What was he doing in Croatia? I would have thought he would go home to Serbia after his victory.
BTW, Djokovic is a stated fan of classical music, and his 6-year-old daughter is a violin student whom he is encouraging in her studies. He did this stunt to amuse her.
He knows his Mozart too and sang Don Giovanni on the Met stage. Serbia and Croatia (Milanov, Tino Pattiera) always had a great cultural/classical music tradition
