  • Failed Organist says:

Handsome chappie and he can play brilliantly too!

    • Observing2 says:

…handsome?! Are we looking at the same photo?

      • Failed Organist says:

I suppose it’s a matter of personal taste, but I’m one of several organists who consider Mr Orford of photogenic model status and a very fine player worthy of this distinguished post.

  • And? says:

Mm-hm. Slow news day, I guess.

  • Althea T-H says:

St. Paul’s Cathedral is still too much of a men’s club. The few female clergy and two girl singers do not compensate for the heavy male dominance in the music division.
    It is TIME FOR CHANGE.
Male domination means too much money and opportunities for men, at the expense of women. It is GETTING BORING, NOW.

    • Failed Organist says:

It’s a men only club for a reason Althea, and as a result they present excellent music and liturgy without the female clergy, singers and organists offering incompetence instead as elsewhere in the CofE

    • Music Scholar says:

Change the record, Althea. It’s getting boring now

  • Rbraintree says:

It has changed massively already , and will no doubt continue to do so. Young male organists these days are at a considerable disadvantages when applying for these sorts of posts
