This is the view from my hotel room here in Copenhagen and a lot of noise …

  • Nick2 says:

I know many artists who would insist either on being moved to the other side of the hotel, assuming that meant less noise, or being moved to another hotel with no constrction noise outside. I do think the recital organiser has made a major mistake.

  • Michael says:

Looking at the railway tracks, I would guess this is the Radisson Royal, one of the finest in town, about 200 meters walk from Tivoli where her (far from sold-out) concert is today.

    Stop moaning, woman.

  • Philipp Lord Chandos says:

Motors – the enemies of nature and music!

  • Hugh says:

Suck it up like anyone else, you are not special Ms. Mutter

  • TrippyZ says:

You will have to learn to cope in Copenhagen

  • brian says:

Discouraging to see so many negative posts from men.
    Perhaps misogyny (in some cases).

  • Dan says:

She could go to the nearest pharmacy and get some earplugs.
I always bring some with me, you never know.

  • L Roberts says:

I wouldn’t be happy in any hotel room where there is lots of noise and disruption outside… hotels are usually places of rest for travellers and the like. Give the wonderful lady some respect.

  • Officer Krupke says:

I would probably take a picture and share it if I was in a similar situation. However, requesting a room change would be my first thought… but there may not be much time, and depending on schedules it could be more hassle than it is worth.
Touring is intense – moments of rest and quiet are vital – one would not call an athlete a diva for needing this.
A soloist of her calibre should have appropriate accommodation and this falls short.

  • Arundo Donax says:

Why do we assume Mutter is complaining or being demanding? Could she just be observing?

  • Art says:

I thought that she had quit the business.

  • ANAS says:

I thought that they stopped all roadworks by statute if a top artist is in town, no?
