Mourning for Scots baritone
RIPThe Royal Conservatoire of Scotland has announced the death of baritone Alan Watt, a valued member of the teaching staff from 1995 to 2019.
Born in Aberdeen, Watt sang leading roles with British companies performed regularly with the Scottish Early Music Consort.
Abroad he performed in Vienna, Venice, Basle, Brussels, Seville, Bruges, Berlin, Strasbourg and Tel Aviv.
How awful. Remember his singing well. May he rest in peace.
What a joy it was to play this production! Peter Maag conducted (from a raised harpsichord in the pit), Giuliano Carmignola was the concertmaster and the staging was by Luca Ronconi.
RIP Mr Watt.

Very sad to hear if AW Passing. I remember hearing him in a recital on radio 3 about 45 years ago. I was singing in choirs and was starting to take lessons. His voice was so rich and had a free legato line. It was inspiring! RIP.
So sad, Alan and I sang in so many productions at Kent Opera, and Scottish Opera. He was a wonderful colleague and friend. Rest In Peace dear Alan.
lovely lovely geezer
I was a student with Alan Watt at the RSAMD. He possessed a very beautiful rich Baritone, and was a fine musician .
