The state theatre of Kassel, where the young Gustav Mahler learned the conducting ropes, has chosen the Lithuanian Ainars Rubikis as its Generalmusikdirektor.

As to the local newspaper 12,5 % of the orchestra voted in favor of Rubikis. 91% voted for the other contender, Kerem Hasan (double vote was possible). Yeay.
