French director, 77, is charged with rape
OperaThe theatre and opera director Benoît Jacquot was charged with rape by Paris prosecutors on Wednesday.
Evidence against Jacquot, who directed Werther for Antponio Pappano at Covent Garden in 2003, was given by two actresses, one of whom was a minor at the time. The alleged offences took place between 1998 and 2013.
He spent three days in custody this week and has been released on 25,000 Euros bail.

No personal familiarity with the matter, but it looks like an archaeological litigation. Important with objective, technically assessable evidence.
No personal familiarity with the matter, but it looks like an imminently important litigation provided the evidence is there.
…another classical music culture legacy…
…all of this happened rather in the movie-making industry (the job BJ is more famous for).
I’m sorry for victims, but waiting more than ten years is utterly ridiculous.
