The Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra has announced the death of principal cello and programme coordinator Dr Lauri Pulakka after a long illness.

Lauri was the very definition of a wonderful musician and warm human being, the best kind of colleague one could hope. My memories of him go way back to our music camp days well into the early 1970’s. It was much too early to lose him, too many notes still to play. He leaves scores of musicians and friends and a beautiful family missing him.
