All these competitions are a complete money spinner and a piss-up for the juries, who prop up their own vested interests.

Why would anyone take part in an endeavour organized solely to enable a useless singer to grope young girls, is a mystery. Also, opera should be cancelled as a completely anachronistic genre and also because the singers sound like squealing from a collapsed mine. We still need orchestras though, to record film scores and play Carmina Burana and Christmas singalongs.
