Death of a French composer
RIPThe death has been reported of the composer Edith Lejet, Emeritus Professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She died today, in the week of her 83rd birthday.
A winner of the Grand Prix de Rome, Lejet composed numerous works that conformed to none of the dominant ideologies.
Surely we can find a reason to celebrate any and all composers before they die.
No, the world is waiting till they die, because experience shows that dead composers are the best.
