The Brazilian Academy of Music mourns the death of pianist Maria Josephina Mignone at the age of 101 years.

She founded the “Francisco Mignone Cultural Center and was the premier interpreter of her huband’s works.

    It must’ve given her great pleasure to know that her husband’s opera was reconstructed and revived in Manaus in April last year at the Festival Amazonas: O contractador dos diamantes.
