So now musicians can learn to sign away their royalties to the big streaming companies? Spotify is an egregious abuser of copyright laws and musician wages for their content. A deal with the devil, perhaps?

    • Jocheem says:

There are evil people out there who have literally set up markets to prey off the desperation of musicians. They are involved in various related markets, not just streaming, and make a TON of money off of everyone’s hopes and dreams. They have absolutely no problem with the fact that many musicians are literally starving.

  • Rooboo says:

Online streaming services such as Spotify have made it much more difficult for musicians to pursue viable careers as performers. This man’s appointment as President of Berklee is the equivalent of putting the chief of Yamaha’s Clavinova division in charge of a piano-tuning school.

  • Anon says:

Berklee is the McDonald’s of music schools. Cultural fast food, corporate power, quintessential USian.
