Ruth Leon recommends… San Francisco Opera livestream
Ruth Leon recommendsSan Francisco Opera livestreams
The San Francisco Opera is livestreaming one performance of each of its operas during its Summer Season starting with Innocence, an opera by Finnish composer Kaija Saaariaho. It takes place at a joyous wedding celebration which takes a shocking turn when the darkest of secrets is revealed.
Stela, sung by Lilian Farahani, believes she’s found love with her new husband, played by Miles Mykkanen. But amid the joy of their wedding reception, a waitress recognizes the groom as the brother of a gunman in a school shooting ten years ago. And the bride doesn’t know.….
Innocence will be livestreamed on Wednesday, June 12th, at 7.30pm Pacific Time but for those of us in different time zones, there is a 48-hour on-demand window to enable us to access the performance at a civilised hour.

SFO livestreams ALL their shows, safer than risking being mugged or vandalized in their dangerous city.
Ridiculous comment. Please back it up with actual facts. By the way, the opening night performance received rave reviews.
Saw Von Trier’s “The Celebration,” that was enough. Now, an opera version of Von Trier’s “The Kingdom,” where do I get in line.
Hmm… alternate or “better” link that goes to ordering page:
