Stage in the small hall of the Concertgebouw, with a capacity of just 450, the concert reveals great intensity on the part of the audience and musicians alike.

They played works by Debussy and Ben-Haim.

  • Frank says:

De “Kleine Zaal” (450 seats) is where chamber music normally is performed in the Concertgebouw. Other string quartets and piano trios and the like perform their recitals in the Kleine Zaal, too.
It’s a size for which most classical chamber music was composed (if not for smaller venues). So please let’s not act as if the Jerusalem SQ was put in de Kleine Zaal as a punishment.

  • Larry W says:

Great playing with passion, power, and poetry.

  • OSF says:

Weren’t their concerts always planned for the small hall?

  • Dingeman van Daal says:

Above, the Kleine Zaal benefits a great acoustical experience, like the Grote Zaal as well.
And the atmosphere is more like a warm and cosy salon…
The greatest ensembles from all over the world played here troughout the history…
