Things to do with 3 trumpets
Daily Comfort ZoneWe’ve stumbled across this gorgeous new piece, commissioned in memory of the British nurse Edith Cavell who was executed by the Germans in occupied Belgium in the First World War.
It’s by Ryan Linham with Samantha Barnhart and Sam Kinrade on the other two trumpets.
Great piece. Great performance too, and especially the fine intonation and choral blending, a manifestation of the British brass band tradition.
Nice.
The murder of Cavell was especially sad since she treated Allied and German soldiers equally. All human lives were sacred to her even if she helped French, British, and Belgian soldiers reach safety in neutral Netherlands. Why was she executed even though she had saved so many German lives? War is always madness.
Beautiful!
