The Brooklyn vocalist, flutist and composer Nathalie Joachim made her breakthrough with an album Fanm d’Ayiti that delves into her family’s Haitian roots.

She is also part of Flutronix and Eighth Blackbird and she runs contemporary chamber music at the Perlman Music Program. She talks to David Krauss about a life that spans core classical music and Beyoncé.
