The Italian festival director remembers better times with a fallen friend.

  • Alan says:

A fallen friend? Really? Seems like he’s doing just fine.

  • Gabriel Parra Blessing says:

Man, Italian women tend to turn into men as they age, don’t they? La Bartoli is looking rough.

  • PS says:

He’s quite busy actually. Did he fall upwards?

    • Sarah Moreno says:

Sex scandle after Me Too Movement. To relax b4 performances, he had sex with women in performance. Nobody ever talked about it b4, because of who he is. Hopefully will never perform in US again. Was is Bertoli thinking?

  • Willym says:

The Whitsun Festival was always a joy – top talent and fascinating programming. However in recent years it has simply become a spring version of the Summer Festival. Ticket prices, hotels and restaurants were reasonable (for Salzburg) but now it has become an extension of the Summer Festival – a schmooze fest for the wealthy and corporate money. Sadly the Mozartwoche is becoming the same.

This year was supposed to be a celebration of Mozart and I’m still trying to figure out what 50 years of Domingo at Salzburg had to do with Mozart.

  • Tom Phillips says:

The ever flexible Italian sense of “morality” (or more often, complete lack of).

  • just saying says:

You’ve got it wrong. Bartoli is the one on the right.

  • Asking for a friend says:

A who’s who of Russian singers and London based agents.

  • It is to laugh!!! says:

Fallen Friend? Domingo is not a victim. He is the wealthiest opera singer on the planet. He has fallen into a pot of gold. These people are not friends. They are using each other, lining their pockets, and fooling no one. Fallen Friend my ass.

  • zandonai says:

Domingo and Bartoli…two of my favorite people in opera! I first heard her in 1989 in Berkeley when she was a nobody. Immediately I thought to myself “A star is born!” As for Domingo, L.A. Opera was never the same since they fired him ignominiously.

  • David says:

    Bravo Domingo
