Today is the third anniversary of the death of Dorotea Doroteeva, an Austrian-trained Bulgarian soprano with a rising European career. Dorotea died suddenly of a stomach complaint on May 9, 2021, leaving a one year-old son. In the crush of Covid mortality, her death went unrecorded.

A lovely voice – warm, round, full, even. A definite loss to the world of singing & opera. But her death is even a greater loss to her little son & doubtlessly others who knew & loved her.
I am not the only one but I miss Dorotea more than I can express.
