US string quartet calls it quits
NewsThe Alexander String Quartet, founded 1981, says 2024-25 will be its last season. They will play their last concert together next Spring.

So tough for great string quartets to make it work over the long haul. Too bad that they won’t be sticking together – they’ve served San Francisco so well over the years.
43 yrs. is a good run. What are there plans for the future?
