  • Jochen G. says:

GREAT news for NWD! Jonathan Bloxham is a first rate talent – watch this space…

  • Guest says:

    Don’t think Heyward is British…?

  • Barney says:

“Bloxham, in his mid-thirties is also Music Director at the Lucerne Theater and Resident Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the London Mozart Player.”

Blimey, I knew that the music world was being subjected to swingeing cuts, but it’s a real shock when an orchestra is reduced to a single player.

  • SC says:

Despite Jonathon Heyward’s British accent, he is American. Grew up in South Carolina before studying in Boston, then moving to England for some time.

    • Kman says:

How on earth does someone adopt a quasi-British accent after a decade in England *as an adult*? Picking up vocabulary would be one thing, but a full accent? That’s insane!

  • Anthony Sayer says:

It’s a very good orchestra. Recent MDs also include Andris Nelsons.
