The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra recently installed next season’s top team of Chief Conductor Mark Wigglesworth, Principal Guest Conductor Chloé van Soeterstède, and Associate Guest Conductor David Hill.

Now it has added Enyi Okpara as Assistant Conductor after a two-day audition of eight candidates by the orchestra. Enyi is presently Conductor in Residence with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra.

    Oh boy.

Need to change the title. A lot of conductors do not use the baton.
Last week Louis Langree conducted L.A. Phil with a baton in Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3 and without a baton in Mother Goose Suite and other pieces. What’s up with that?

I was there, he was great.

I heard a very good/ impassioned RVW 5th Symphony under his baton last year. Well done, richly deserved !

he will do well to match up to current assistant Tom Fetherstonhaugh (NOT pronounced Fanshawe as usual) : a great musician/violinist ex Merton Oxford. Looking forward to his concert on 24th: Sibelius 7 Schumann cello concerto IVES uq Elgar Enigma
